Review: YSL Faux Cils Shocking Mascara

I am super excited to share this review with you all! Never before have I had the opportunity to either invest or try out a high-end mascara. A couple of weeks ago I won FleurDeForce’s giveaway on YouTube and recieved an amazing price including this Yves Saint Laurent Faux Cils Shocking Mascara. I know, quite a mouth full, isn’t it?

Let’s get started on the review!

The mascara has rosegold packaging with the YSL logo engraved in it and ‘Shocking’ written in black. It always feels kind of cold and ‘heavy’ compared to other mascara’s that have plastic packaging. The first thing I noticed when I opened the mascara was the smell, and this might seem kind of strange for a mascara, but this YSL mascara actually smells nice!

The colour of this mascara is black and it’s supposed to give you a shocking effect. The brush size seem normal to me but it is slightly curved which makes it really easy to apply to your lashes.

The effect it has on my eyes is amazing. The black colour makes your lashes pop out and creates a great ‘frame’ for your eyes. I wasn’t expecting it to make my lashes so long but it does! I think the biggest difference with this mascara is that it does not stick your lashes together but seperates them into individual lashes which gives it a great effect!
And finally, this mascara stays on forever! I have to take my time to take it off in the evening because it will stay in place the whole day!

I am absolutely in love with this mascara and totally recommend this to anyone who’d like to try out a high-end mascara; it’s a great investment! Thanks Fleur for giving me this awesome price!
